Sanctuary is a ministry to street people in downtown Toronto.
“About a year and a half ago at Sanctuary, a small group started working on creating a ‘community play’. The group gathered individuals from our community and began asking simple questions designed to prompt a wide range of reminiscences. Those responses were recorded and became the raw material for Sanctuary’s first ever completely home-grown full-length theatrical production.*
And so, it is with great excitement that we are announcing the upcoming performances of */The Passages of Everett Manning/ *– a play inspired by the Sanctuary community.
It’s worth noting that, in the play, we portray our community as honestly and honorably as possible. And since our community comes with a lot of rough edges, there is some content and language in the play that could be offensive. While the play is far from grim, the realism of some of the street scenes means that it’s not children’s fare.

The day started out beautifully with a glorious sunrise and the chance to meet up with friends from Church of the Resurrection and the Toronto Chinese Presbyterian Church.
Congratulations to Yiming, Raymond, Aaron, Francis and Mei on their baptism!
Good Friday services at TCMC:
Mandarin Congregation: 4:00pm. - 5:30pm. (Centennial Hall)
Cantonese Congregation: 5:30pm - 8pm. (Albert Ball Hall)
English Congregation: 7pm. - 8:30pm. (main sanctuary)
Easter Sunday will be a joint service with all 3 congregations beginning at 10am. We’ll be celebrating the baptisms of Raymond Ngai, Yiming An, Aaron Kong, Francis Hou, and Mei Lam. There will be a special thanksgiving offering collected for Thailand missions. Please mark “Thai Missions” on your envelope if you wish to contribute to this.
There will also be a potluck lunch to follow. Please bring a dish to share.
The English congregation is also organizing a sunrise gathering on Easter Sunday. We will be meeting at Woodbine Beach near the bathing station at 6:30am. We’ll have breakfast together at Sunset Grill at Coxwell & Danforth. Please contact Amy if you’d like to attend so we can make reservations for breakfast.
